BEYOND THE F-STOP: PHOTOGRAPHING YOUR LIFE
Although this workshop will cover the technical issues of exposure, composition, aperture and shutter speeds, your main focus will be creativity and content. In an intimate, non-judgmental atmosphere, we will explore our lives through photography, writing and discussion. Learn how to take better pictures while discovering your personal vision. (NO PRIOR PHOTOGRAPHY EXPERIENCE NECESSARY, BRING A 35MM SLR, POINT-AND-SHOOT OR DIGITAL CAMERA.)

ALTERNATIVE PROCESSES
This series of one-day workshops will provide instruction about one of the following alternative processes: hand coloring, lifts and transfers, hand coloring digital prints, cyanotypes in nature, and using Holga and other toy cameras. Limited enrollment of 10. (NO PRIOR PHOTOGRAPHY EXPERIENCE NECESSARY)

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY: BASIC PORTRAITURE
This workshop covers the basics of using a digital camera including camera settings, f-stop, focus, flash, digital capture versus film, time of day and tripod use. We will apply what we learn in class by shooting portraits and self-portraits. Participants should bring a 3 megapixel (minimum) point and shoot or SLR camera with manual or user guide, at least 1 gigabyte or more on a memory card, a tripod (optional) and an off-camera or in-camera flash.

HANDCOLORING A DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHIC PRINT
This workshop introduces techniques for printing and hand-coloring digital photo prints. Instruction covers the use of oils, paints, pastels, chalks, and pencils. Participants should bring existing digital images on a CD. These images should be in tif format at 8"x10" at 300 dpi. Materials will be provided.
